1. Scope
This policy applies to the following services operated by Hetu Technology Network Co., Ltd. (合途科技网络有限公司, “we”, “us”):
- the Chat Translator for WhatsApp Web browser extension (Chrome / Microsoft Edge, Manifest V3, the “Extension”);
- our official website https://mywhatsapp.asia (the “Website”, static pages only); and
- the self-operated server gateway that provides translation, voice transcription and license verification for the Extension (the “Gateway”).
The Extension runs only when you yourself visit web.whatsapp.com. It is a translation display and input-assistance tool. It is not a WhatsApp or Meta product, and it is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by WhatsApp LLC or Meta.
2. What data we process, and why
We follow the principle of data minimization. Anything that is not required to provide the translation and licensing service is simply not collected:

Local storage: license state, per-chat language preferences, and the local translation cache are kept in the extension's local storage (chrome.storage.local) on your own computer only. Clearing the extension's data or uninstalling the Extension deletes them.
3. What we never do
The following are product red lines and are also guaranteed by the Extension's technical structure — the Extension simply has neither the permissions nor the code to perform them:
No bulk / mass messaging No auto-adding contacts or groups No automated or scheduled sending No chat-history collection No reading of contact / group lists No cloud sync of chats No user profiling or interest tags No selling or renting of any data No advertising SDKs
Every message is sent by you, manually: the Extension only displays the translated text next to the input box. The final send is always triggered by your own explicit key press (a configurable long-press or double-tap shortcut). The Extension never sends messages by itself, never runs scheduled or background conversation tasks, and never performs bulk sending — this is also how we stay clear of WhatsApp's anti-automation rules.
4. Where data is stored, and for how long
- Location: license, device and usage data are stored in a SQLite database on servers located in mainland China. The database is backed up automatically every day; backups are stored on controlled servers in the same region and deleted on a rolling schedule.
- Transit security: all traffic between the Extension and the Gateway is encrypted with HTTPS (TLS). License tickets are verified with asymmetric (ECDSA) signatures and cannot be forged.
- Shared translation cache: to avoid charging twice for identical sentences, the Gateway caches translations. A cache entry contains only the language pair, a hash of the source text, and the source/translated text — no device ID, account, or identity information. Entries are kept for 30 days from the last cache hit and are then physically deleted automatically.
- Voice audio: exists in memory only for the duration of processing. It is never written to disk and never backed up.
- License and usage data: retained for the duration the service is provided, for license verification and quota calculation. After you uninstall the Extension, that device stops producing any new data. You may contact us at any time to delete the license, aggregated-usage and feedback records tied to your device (deletion also unbinds the activation code).
- Payments: we do not handle any payment step. Activation codes are purchased and issued through direct offline communication (WeChat). Our servers never touch your bank card, payment account, or billing address.
5. Sub-processors and third-party services
To provide translation and transcription, the Gateway forwards the individual message you submitted — and nothing else — to the following specialist service providers. They act strictly as processors on our behalf; the data is used only to return the translation/transcription to us, under confidentiality obligations. It is never sold, never used for advertising, and never used to build profiles about you.

We do not share your data with any other third party, except where disclosure is required by applicable law or a binding legal request.
6. Browser extension permissions, explained

The Extension does not request cookies, tabs, history, bookmarks, or webRequest permissions, and it does not read your browser history or the content of other tabs.
7. Your rights
- Access and transparency: you can review the license and language settings stored locally at any time in the Extension's options page; this policy lists every category of data processed on the server.
- Correction: you can edit your device label yourself; contact support to correct license-related information.
- Deletion: you may contact us to delete the server-side license, aggregated-usage and feedback records associated with your device.
- Withdrawal / stopping use: disabling or uninstalling the Extension in the browser's extension page immediately stops all data processing by the Extension, and local data is removed with it.

9. Other terms
- Children: the Extension is intended for business users engaged in international trade and is not directed at children under 16. We do not knowingly collect any information from children under 16.
- Policy updates: updates to this policy are posted on this page with a new version number and effective date. Any material expansion of processing scope will be announced prominently, including through Extension notices.
- Single purpose (Chrome Web Store): the Extension's single purpose is to translate messages the user is viewing or composing within the WhatsApp Web page and to transcribe voice messages at the user's explicit request. It has no message-collection, automated outreach, or account-automation functionality.
- No sale of data / limited use: we do not sell user data, do not use it for advertising, and do not use it for creditworthiness or similar assessments. User data is used solely to provide the translation and transcription functionality described above.
